Appropriately, the fish (mostly) continued to celebrate their independence from the end of my line today. A friend and I ventured out to the Milwaukee River where Cedar Creek empties in. In an all-too-common theme for this year, the water was high, fast, and cloudy from more rains yesterday. Cedar Creek was running clear, though, so we decided to venture upstream. This was uncharted territory for me.
The fishing wasn’t awesome, but I did manage three smallmouth (biggest was maybe 11″) and my fishing partner landed a handfull as well. However, the beast you see in the top photo was the crown jewel of the day. He landed an 18.5″ smallmouth shortly before he was about to leave. Quite the way to end the day!
